St. Patrick’s Day Garland

By Emily R

It’s not too late for a St. Patrick’s Day craft! Today we had a rain/snow mix so as you can imagine, there hasn’t been a lot of outdoor crafts yet this year. The book we picked for this month is How to Catch a Leprechaun. Pippa’s favorite part of the book was trying to find the leprechaun on each page! For the craft we kept it simple and made a cute little tie garland – I personally plan to hang mine on top of my chalkboard! The best thing about this craft is it’s pretty fool-proof! The fabric can be cut at all different width/lengths depending on which look you’re going for.

What you’ll need –
Fabric (I chose four different fabrics totaling about 1 yard)
Fabric cutting board
Rotary cuter

We cut our fabric to be 1/2 inch thick and 5 inches long. Once your strips are cut, you simply tie them once around the jute. We found it made the job easier to tie one end of the jute to the top of a chair and hold the bottom tight on the floor with your foot – that way the jute doesn’t keep moving on you while you’re tying.

Have fun 🙂
